Google, the world’s most popular search engine, is showing some concern to Mauritius since a few months. The latest “innovation” from them is Google Moris, which is the search engine in Kreol Morisien language. Google Moris is in fact an option along with the French and English version.

As you can see in the snapshot above, Google Moris really exists at Google Mauritius. And now, you have probably looked at it and laughed a bit. The wordings seem really funny when you look at them for the first time.

Apart from Google Moris, Google has several other projects specifically related to Mauritius. One of them is setting up Google servers in Mauritius to make access to Google and related services like Gmail faster and better.

Google also created specific maps for most of the regions of Mauritius using the service Google Maps. You can read more on Google Maps in Mauritius on The Media Guru.

The last hope of Mauritian Geeks is surely to have a Google headquarters similar to the one in Mountain View in the coming years.
