all i can say is that prevention is the best way to escape dengue. n am sure dat Mtius will fight it just to well, after all the campaigns of chickungunya…will help a lot n people already hav a good notion abt wat must b done, all of us mtians must coorporate n fyt the mosquitoes as there is no really effective vaccine against dengue, the tetravalent vaccine as well is nt v effective
    take care guys

I am glad to hear that the Govt is taking the necessary measures to eradicate the scourge of Dengue Fever. I would like to see the people being more proactive i.e taking matters in their own hands in fighting and eradicating the mosquitoes. Equipment such as sprays and anti-mosquitoes solutions should be made easily accessible at minimal costs to the population and where possible freely available for use. I have seen diesel (petrol)being used against mosquitoes. I would like to hear from others constructive solutions to combat this scourge.

    • @eshan
The Govt and Ministry of Health are really doing a good job. During the year 2006 when Chickungunya was in Mauritius, Odomos(Mosquitoe Repellent Cream) and “vapes with diffuser” were distrubuted freely throught the island. Hail The Govt of Mauritius and Ministry of Health 🙂

Can Dengue Fever lead to death?

    • @John
Yes, dengue fever can lead to death but in very severe cases where the patient might not receive the necessary treatment or where he might be very weak to bear the symptons of the fever

  9. 17 Rebecca

but it is mentioned that there are no commercially avaible vaccines yet. so wot is the treatment in case of dengue fever? as far as preventive measures are concerned the govt should renew wot they did in year 2006.

    • @Rebecca
It’s indeed very true that there is no really commercially available vacccines for Dengue Fever. Only The SYMPTONS of Dengue Fever can be reduced by taking usual medecines. As far as the government is concerned, they are doing there very best and there is really no need to worry(bhai jeetah est la) 🙂

  10. 19 asmi
