Twitter, the micro-blogging and social networking website, is become more and more popular day by day. For muggles, Twitter allows you to send tweets or updates in less than 140 characters and your followers read them while you read your followers’ updates. This might sound totally stupid and useless, but just create an account at Twitter, follow some people including me and start tweeting to see the magic of this world.
Generally we tweet from Twitter.com, but other third party softwares and web interfaces can also be used. Tweeting from mobile is really cool and exciting, some softwares even allow you to update your status as from Rs 1, you can read my post on uTweetMe if you are interested in this.
After getting used to Twitter world, you will soon notice that some of your followers send you replies on your tweets. Now you are tweeting from your mobile and someone sends you a reply, it will be quite impossible for you to know about it and it will definitely be a waste of time and money to turn on your computer to go to Twitter or access Twitter mobile’s interface.
It will glad for you to know that Twitter sends free SMS to your mobile phone but also sad to know that this service is available to only some countries and Mauritius is not included in that list. In order to solve this problem, we have written off this original guide to allow you to receive your Twitter replies freely in your mobile phone. This guide works for Emtel and Orange in Mauritius and 80 other carriers in the whole world.

Google, the world’s most popular search engine, is showing some concern to Mauritius since a few months. The latest “innovation” from them is Google Moris, which is the search engine in Kreol Morisien language. Google Moris is in fact an option along with the French and English version.

Orange is now on the pole position with the launching of unlimited TV on mobile at only Rs 250 per month. The package comprises of 15 channels and can be viewed on most mobile phones.
Just as a reminder, Emtel also has it’s mobile TV with 7 channels from Canal Sat. But Emtel’s offer is not really “unlimited”. You can view more on Emtel Mobile TV on emtel-ltd.com
Now, let’s come back to Orange which has been in Mauritius since only last year, with the rebranding of Cellplus. Orange is offering the new innovative Mobile TV with two main options:
- TV on your mobile as from Rs 2 per minute
- Unlimited TV on your mobile at only Rs 250 per month.

On the same occasion, a new mobile phone called Orange Ego is being launched.
